Introductory Chakra Yoga Series with Athanasia, Sacred Earth Society

The word Chakra has entered the mainstream consciousness in some form or another, whether it be through a yoga teacher talking about them in class, hearing the word on television or from some post on social media. There is almost an exotic and mysterious curiosity around what the chakras are and what they do for us.The word chakra quite literally means “wheel” in the ancient Sanskrit language. The dynamics of a wheel is its power to turn and rotate, this is where the energy source of the wheel magnifies and harnesses its energy in the physical body. The chakras are an energetic system of “wheels” that run along the spine of the body. The main chakras that we reference most are the 7 chakras that the physical body correlates to.Learning how to practice yoga regularly is a fun and easy way to bring your chakras into balance in the physical body, finding more relaxation and peace in your life. Through the practice of yoga, you will find more balance in your physical body, mental states, and cultivate a happier state of being allowing your health to flourish. In this Introductory Yoga Series you will learn:- Basic yoga postures and breathing techniques (no experience required)- The basic associations of the chakras relevant to the physical body and organs.- How to restore balance to the chakra energy systems and the physical body.- Learn which yoga postures are most affective to help to stimulate and balance each chakra.- A deeper understanding to the importance of the chakra system and the effects on the physical body Please bring a yoga mat or a towel and a bottle of water. The cost of class is $15, if you stay for the next session that is the same price, you will receive a $5 reduced rate making the total cost of both classes $25 instead of $30
