      Restoration of Native Oyster Beds in Orange County

      The Olympia oyster is the only oyster native to the West Coast, but it has experienced significant population declines due to overharvesting and habitat destruction. Cal State Fullerton is home to the only research group in Southern California currently studying recruitment dynamics and population structure of Olympia oysters. The instructor for this class is Danielle Zacherl, Ph.D., associate professor of CSUF Biological Science Department.
