      Irvine Police Department's Inter-Faith Security Council Meeting

      The Irvine Police Department's Special Investigations Bureau invites the leaders of our local faith-based community to join us for an indepth discussion focused on protecting our Houses of Worship. From 11:00am - 12:00pm, we will be joined by subject matter expert Dr. Erroll G. Southers, who will present on Homegrown Violent Extremism and Protecting Houses of Worship. Dr. Southers is a former Presidential nominee for Assistant Secretary of the TSA, Deputy Director in the California Office of Homeland Security and FBI Special Agent. Dr. Southers is the Director of the Safe Communities Institute at USC's Price School fo Public Policy. Houses of Worship interested in applying for the 2020 Cal OES Nonprofit Security Grant Program are also encouraged to attend this event. From 12:15pm - 1:00pm, Irvine Police Department's Threat Mitigation Officer Rick Gramer will provide attendees with information about how IPD can assist you and your team with the grant's required vulnerability assessment.  Please join us at Los Olivos Community Center on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 from 11:00am - 1:00pm. Mariner's Church is generosly donating lunch for this event.
