      A Parent's Guide to Understanding & Supporting Children’s Mental Health

      The Help Group Learning Center and STEM³ Academy Parent Education Series Presents: A Parent's Guide to Understanding & Supporting Children’s Mental Health Dr. Andrea Appapillai from Mind Health Institute will discuss common mental health conditions for children, including signs/symptoms and how parents can intervene. She will also review strategies for parents to support general well-being. This is a FREE event. Seating is limited. Please RSVP by November 12. About the Speaker Dr. Appapillai is a licensed clinical psychologist with special expertise in the field of pediatric psychology, which is dedicated to addressing the numerous behavioral, emotional, social, and environmental factors that impact health and medical care. She has extensive experience providing evidence-based behavioral and cognitive-behavioral therapy to children and adolescents with a range of medical and general mental health concerns. She is particularly invested in helping children with chronic, complex medical diagnoses cope with their illnesses, cooperate with their medical treatment, manage their pain, and improve health-related behaviors. Dr. Appapillai received my doctorate from Azusa Pacific University and completed advanced training and employment in multiple children's hospitals, including CHOC Children's, City of Hope National Medical Center, the Kennedy Krieger Institute, Johns Hopkins Children's Center, and Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego.
